Teenager Kills Brother Over PlayStation Argument

Obviously video games drove this 16 year old to violence. Not his apparent mental issues. His parent aren't at blame for abandoning him, nor their guardians for letting him play GTA, Doom, mortal combat at age 5. in conclusion video games are murder trainers.

I said it once and I'll say it again. Video games make DUMB people, turn violent. It's not the video game's fault. It's the parent's fault. Um, yeah, probably should avoid getting the kids video games if you live in a small town with nothing else to do, little to no social growth...just video games. Parents MIGHT want to get them involved with sports...and I'm not talking Wii, either.

It just shows that society is getting more violent. Video games are not the only cause of this, look at recent movies and how violent they are.

greatest freakout ever, but with a very sad ending.

I feel sorry for the kid who was killed, but I also feel sorry for the kid that killed his brother. I mean not only does it sound like this kid was neglected by his parents, but how he has to live with the fact that he KILLED his own brother, and over a playstation!!!

What a sad story.

I think this would have happened even without the Playstation. The brother would have used the toaster, or borrowed a shirt, and the result would have been the same.

Murders done by teenagers have happened many times long even before violent games or movies even existed.
Some of them even due to stupid simple reasons.
Violence is part of our mind which is ready to explode anytime.
Violent games and movies are only a catalyst to that.

People kill each other over dumb =?= arguments.

The best I have seen on local news is an argument over a mecha TV show (Who's gonna win? Voltes V or the enemy monster/robot of the week?) >_>

[citation][nom]Kohlhagen[/nom]I don't think violent video games are the case . It seems to be the addiction to the gaming or console itself.[/citation]

it's along the lines of that. We seem to be losing the ability to control our basic emotions. Shouldn't we actually think of a way to reverse the trend instead of blaming video games yet again?

Obviously, it makes ALL people, "turn violent" as after watching endless killing/blood bath scenes one stops being shocked by the picture or even the idea.

5 years for murdering someone out of simple anger? Because he played your Playstation?

-1,000,000 respect points for Chile.

hear hear. i really beleive that there now is a growing addiction to consoles/pcs/gaming in my generation. just look at WoW (i know, i know:bad example), but still its JUST a game, which costs lots of money, time, and effort, which is replacing school + family life.
rate me down, i dont care. but its the truth
