Why is it when someone is killed "violent" video games are blamed? yet when someone drives their car into a bus load of nuns at 90mph "fast driving" video games never get the cop? the guy obviously had issues to start with to fly into such a rage over something so innocuous to lay the blame at the feet of video games is extremelly disingenuous and downright naive.

anyway, thats another - points for violent video games. i said this before - i uninstalled L4D2 because my nephew and niece were playing it (8 & 7 yrs old). i dont want them to grow violently. do everything you can to be not an accessory to the crime, one way or another.

I don't see the article directly blaming video games, but half of the posts take a hard stance, defending your bloody video games?
A kid is dead and all you care about is your right to brutally rip someone's limbs off with a chainsaw?
My brother used to get pretty pissed when I used his PS2 without his permission, and I don't have a clue why.
Some people can tell the difference between right and wrong, other can't. Some people can't control their anger. We have to remember, that these people are partially victims too, and they do need help, before someone else or even they themselves get hurt.

Joking aside it obviously a failure of the the care system. He had mental issues well before touching a Playstation. In fact Im pretty certain you could replace playstation and insert any object in there and He still would of had the same reaction to someone touching his property.

People are defending the games since they aren't the root cause of failure. Some of us do care a bit more than that; however, why should the masses of average people be punished because of one idiot kid? As for your brother, some people have low tolerances before they flip out. This has more to do with the individual than a video game's influence.
As for his parents abandoning him to go on vacation or whatnot: The one who died is technically an adult (18) so this is a non-issue. Video games aren't as much to blame as the kid's lack of morality. The average joe doesn't decide to knife someone even if he is enraged. My 2c.

Anyone who "snaps" and kills is more of a danger to society than someone who plans for a killing.

in violent games, most of the time you kill to achieve your objective. kill repetitively until it get stuck on your head(subconscious mind).
