I just bought a new HDTV ,Sony with only hdmi connections , I would like to connect. It to my legacy jvc THA 10 home theatre Which doesn't have hdmi ports
Your TV has HDMI inputs not HDMI outputs. It probably has an digital optical audio output. If your JVC has an optical input then use that of course. If not you will need to purchase a digital to analog converter which will give you L/R RCA analog audio outputs. This is an example http/www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=770113&is=REG&Q=&A=details
You could also connect your sources (set top box, disc player etc) to the TV with HDMI and to the JVC directly for audio.
