You don't want to use lube on the connector. They are supposed to fit snugly. You can carefully open the connector to fit better. Some RCA are easy to do this, others impossible.
If this is a Monster Cable with Turbo connectors be aware that they can rip the RCA jack ground off of some equipment when removed.

Spray the cable, (male end), with either electronic cleaner or in a pinch, WD-40 sparingly.

It will make life a lot more simpler...

You can use a dab of Dielectric compound also called "Tune up Grease".it is a lubricant foe electrical connections
