[citation][nom]Uberragen21[/nom]It's not Verizon's fault, it's the design of the phone that uses GSM rather than CDMA. Verizon uses CDMA, which is an older technology. But a phone of this caliber is a disgrace on AT&T's horrible network. I have Verizon and a Samsung Charge. I've clocked my fastest 4G download speeds of 20 Mbps. AT&T's fastest 4G in the country was recorded at a meager 2.5 Mbps. Pretty sad really...[/citation]

No, Verizon is waiting for the LTE version which is likely to be the Nexus Prime (possibly renamed Droid Prime) which should be released sometime in October and Verizon is going to get that exclusively.

Likewise, the Nexus Prime sounds like it will have even better specs that the Galaxy S 2 (1.5GHz dual core with 4.5" screen and just as good, possibly better, battery life).

[citation][nom]soldier37[/nom]Been with AT&T for 8 years now, the Iphone since 2007. Always had the best signal and minimal dropped calls. Some of you think that Verizon is all that...its not. I'm waitng on the Iphone 5 since I will still have UNLIMITED DATA plan with it so sucks to be you Verizon band wagon folks and your capped plans lol.[/citation]

you're aware that the only reason you have unlimited data is because you're a grandfathered customer, right? i have verizon, and i still have unlimited data too.

Forget Iphone 5 when it release it will be outdated already. I will get GS2 instead.

LOL, I have 4G and unlimited data plan through Verizon. I laugh at my friends who have AT&T and can't get reception in 75% of the city or surrounding areas when I have full 4G LTE coverage. In the mountain canyons I was the only person to have any cell reception (1x). When someone got hurt, only I could call for help. In Las Vegas in 5 casinos, I had full reception. My brother had no reception in 4 of the 5, including the Caesar's Palace. AT&T is pathetic in every aspect.

[citation][nom]acadia11[/nom]CDMA is not older than GSM, GSM is older. CDMA is cheaper to implement in terms of hardware and can carry in theory more calls with the same equipment. In theory GSM should have provided better call quality and it's also the standard the entire world pretty much adopted. Mind you there was TDMA and AM prior to both standards. In any case, everything is moving to LTE and eventually CDMA and GSM were supposed to converge in later standards.[/citation]

You're right, I was mistaken.

I think this was suppose to be the "Function" for Verizon. I was looking into it and found that it would not be released for Verizon and sent PhoneArena an E-mail. They removed it from their list of Verizon's upcoming phones.

[citation][nom]scrumworks[/nom]Ooh, the bliss!! My N8 with Symbian 'Belle' looks better than that brick.[/citation]

N8 is a great phone, but it doesn't stand anywhere close to SGS II in terms of functionality, sadly.

I got this phone for one month now (I'm french) and I can say that it is the most awesome thing I've ever had in my pocket... For Google users, it is such a pleasure to have all your mails, pics, maps, tracks, docs, vids, G+ available at hand, and switching between accounts is soooooo easy (using 4 Google accounts). One cool thing : no need to install a software on your PC to send files to the SGII : connect to your local WIFI, open Kies Air app, open your PC browser and just type an URL... You can manage your phone from your browser! No install needed.

Its

CDMA for Sprint
GSM for AT&T and T-Mobile

So sadly it will be unlockable for Sprint users..

I upgraded from Galaxy S to S2. The difference is huge. This phone is always responsive and working blazing fast! I enjoy it so much, what 700$ (without contract) worth the value.

[citation][nom]sinfulpotato[/nom]Honestly if you currently have a Galaxy S phone... I wouldn't upgrade to this. You won't really notice a big difference to be honest. I have played with many dual core phones, and I wouldn't give up my captivate for any of them.[/citation]

For those of us stuck that need working GPS and would like android 2.3, we will notice a big difference.

If the iPhone5 has the A5 silicon thats used in the iPad2, then it will beat anything Tegra2 based, including this Galaxy II.. At least according to Toms own review of the iPad2, XOOM, and Galaxy Tab that is... It wont be until Tegra3 devices come out in Q1 2012 that they will be able to beat the A5 hardware Apple is using..

[citation][nom]drapacioli[/nom]Not to mention that AT&T's Captivate only has a 5MP camera, no front-facing camera and no LED flash either. I'd say the two phones are far from the same.[/citation]

I was lucky and got one of the latest revisions. GPS connects in seconds. Plus I am using a Gingerbread rom. Camera and Flash are far from important for a phone.

I'm hearing that the audio chip is a step down from the previous version. I REALLY like the screen size and the snappy interface, but before I buy this puppy, I want to try it out with some good music samples. Unfortunately, none of my colleagues have the phone so I can plug my Bose headphones in... :-(
