Wolfgang, you made my day. So far I would get flamed if I said my opinion which is EXACTLY the same as yours. I also have a PS3 but as of recently. I'm not anti-Sony neither a kiddo that doesn't know what an informer consumer/gamer wants or looks for himself. Yet to have a negative say for PS3 is a new trend that throws you into the pile of child's play of online craptalk.

Sony is seriously not worth all the praise when they manage to make so many wrong moves and choices this gen around with the PS3, so many late decisions and bad results of just pasting other's ideas. Achievements, Wiimotes, XBLA, Facebook, Netflix and many many more... Everything is ideas from the other companies yet ironically is what matter the most at the current state and period we are of this console cycle.

You should have done some research before writing this article.

The only reason the 360 outsold Wii in Feb. was because there were Wii shortages which is expected when the Wii had the best selling month (3.8 million) of any gaming machine ever. The Wii shortages has been widely reported and there are still shortages. If you are skeptical then you should call any Gamestop, Target, or Walmart and I guarantee you 95% of them will say they are soldout.

I hope Microsoft doesn't win the 'war' simply because the toll it's taking on PC gaming is painful. Instead of getting PC games on the PC, we get X360 games that were ported to the PC.

These ports are typically marred with problems such as no modding/customizing, locked-down game options (I.E. no developer console), terrible performance, clunky interfaces/controls, and poor program stability. Games that fall into this category would be games like MW2, Saints Row 2, GTA4, Assassin's Creed, Just Cause 2, and so on. Sure, the content of these games can be extremely fun, but it's often glaringly obvious that the game was designed for console use, with little to no care for the PC.

I wish more developers did true multi-platform games instead of settling for ports. Bioware does a fantastic job with their releases, where each version of their games is the best it can be for its respective platform.

If the X360 wins the war, then I fear PC gamers will have to settle for either subpar ports, not playing certain titles at all, or giving up the PC platform entirely.

I don't know about you guys (and gals), but it'll be a cold day in hell before I give up the flexibility and power of the PC as a gaming platform.

*cough* fanboy *cough*

can't believe the author doesn't even realize the point of the ball on the Move, but I guess it's ok he's not a tech writer or anything.

Surprise!!! Microsoft was able to release a defective product and keep it on the market, but I imagine all the practice they've gotten in... well it's fair to say they're used to it.

I have to agree I thought the Move was "cute" too, until I saw the Shield and sword demo then it suddenly became badass.

Natal looks like it might suffer the same fate as the Wii, it's cool at first then you realize it's kinda laggy and in-precise and you're like... meh and go back to fps... but we'll see it could be cool, agreed we must wait and see. But either way I'm sure the increased sales will allow microsoft to coast till the next consoles launch.

Oh and yeah calling bs on
"The Xbox 360's identity may come with the arrival of Project Natal, a new controller concept that takes Nintendo’s idea, but pushes it into the future."

the Move is taking Nintendo's Idea and pushing it into the future, with the addition of a Motion Capture Ball on the end of it for increased accuracy, decreased lag.

Natal, however, is taking Sony's Eye Toy and pushing it into the future by adding a second camera for a 3d input instead of the 2d thing the eyetoy thing had going.

And I'd have to end by saying that if the author of the article isn't admittedly a m$ fanboy then he better be getting paid for such biased ignorant articles.

*sigh* Sure, if you look at the USA Market, the 360 wins... in case you haven't noticed, a lot of stupid people live here.

As the guy above pointed out, how many of those 20million USA sold units are replacement units? If we go by the estimate 33% failure rate - then the USA 360 market size is 13million. We see posts all over the internet of people buying their 3 or 4th console... either replacing a dead unit or trading it in to "upgrade" or to get a newer and cooler version to hopefully not end up with a RROD version. I'll give it to such people, to buy a product 3+ times to play the games... they love their games. I'd be done with it personally after the 1-2nd time.

MS did the best thing for them. Release a product before it was finished (heat issues, loud cooling and drives, RROD) to beat SONY... had the 360 come out a year later... the sales numbers in the USA would be flipped.

But on a global scale, the 360 is not doing so good. In Japan the 360 unit sales is in the 6-figures.. maybe 1 million. Stores in Japan are refusing to buy used 360s or offer extended warranties.

In stores in the USA, sales of the PS3 are not as high as they have been in the past few months... oh yeah, there is a SHORTAGE of PS3s!

World-wide, The PS3 is 6 million sold units behind the 360. Remove the dead 360s, that could make them almost even.

Nintendo will most likely lead in total units sold by 2013, but not in game attachments. The PS3, while in 3rd place - is not a failure.

I don't own any consoles... but when I buy, it won't be an xbox or nintendo.

I have all the 3 consoles and just recently got the PS3 for MLB 10 (the Show). I will say that it was worth getting a PS3 at the current price point for MLB 10 and it is really quiet compared to the 360. However, I agree that the attach rate and money spent on the 360 outpaces the other 2 consoles due to better online content, exclusive games and it's commitment to the future. I tried demos for all the big PS3 games but something seems to be missing for me. The Xbox exclusives have such as strong community and compelling online features that I will continue to buy most of my future games on the 360. I was actually shocked and dissappointed how poor the PS3 dashboard was and how weak the on-line is (lag city). I have no problem paying $40 year for premium online content that the 360 offers. I can't believe that not all the PSN games have an associated demo (all 360 Live games do plus the Indie games are great too).

I love having all 3 consoles because they each offer something that the other doesn't. Right now, I cannot get enough of MLB 10 on the PS3 (360 baseball 2K games cannot compare) but I will spend the rest of time playing Mass Effect 2 (after completing Mass Effect 1 over the last 2 months). Great games, great choices and not enough time to play. Competition is good for all but I would love to have Sony and Microsoft team up in the next generation for one console so we don't have to choose console for exclusive games but I doubt it.

The only reason I haven't purchased a PS3 myself is as the article states, the delay in the launch of Gran Turismo 5. The GT series is my all time favorite driving simulator / racing game. If it had of been ready for the PS3's launch then PS3 sales would have been through the roof. To be brutal all we have at the minute is a never ending stream of online first person shooters, each release a little more graphically adept. Not my cup of tea at all to be honest and why I remain faithful to gaming on the PC platform. Theres so much more variety on PC and with my crossfire setup and 1080HD monitor, gaming on the PC still looks much better than anything the consoles are throwing out onto HD televisions.

"Sony will release family fun games with its new Move controller generation. Imagine that a few years ago—back in 2007, Sony would have gone with a machine gun to demonstrate this new controller. Now we will see ping pong and archery. Lovely."

Why is someone so completely ignorant of the facts writing an article like this? Sony DID demo their new controller with a first person shooter, duh! The fact that they demoed some casual games with it as well should not be a surprise - they are just trying to expand their market. I bought a PS3 in January. I looked at the three systems and decided that the blu-ray and coming motion controller (I wanted something my young kids would have fun with) made the PS3 the smartest choice for me. I think that a lot of others think the same thing.

"Microsoft’s Natal concept and demos have been breathtaking so far."

What demos? There's only Ricochet. And that got you impressed? You must be new to gaming then.

Unless of course, Molyneux fooled you into thinking, Milo is actually real and not just smoke and mirrors by a well known Sith Lord. LOL

As for the concept trailer they've shown, don't tell me you actually fall for it, hook, line and sinker? You can't be, that gullible, or are you?

And you think the 360 will win because of a camera? WOW!

I can't believe your a techno journalist and an analyst to boot. HAHAHAHA! Nice one, Dude! I almost forgot it's April Fools. Its the day for the delusionals and the simple-minded. I guess, you can call yourself, whatever you want just for this day, mind you.

I doubt very much that the Crashbox360 will win, their system can't play Bluray disc's and the PS3 can and it costs less in the end. I don't think natel is going to have a big impact on sales, they have already stated that it has issues that may not beable to be resolved. Furthermore Microsoft will probably bailout early again like they did with the original Xbox and try to create something better which will leave Sony to sell More PS3's at a lower price.

I am so sick of hearing about project Natal. What is the big deal? Yes you can play games without a controller. You can buy a touch screen monitor and not use a mouse, but nobody says how awesome that would be. As far as as the games itself, what really is the difference having a controller or not. I would pay 10 times as much for a controller with great accuracy than a revamp of the Eyetoy.

Also I originally had a PS3. All of my friends had an 360, so I was like there cant be that much difference. I sold mine to my brother and bought one for my self. It took only 1 month before that 360 was on craigslist. I agree the 360 is great, but is just not the same as PS3. They both do their job but why drive a Honda when you can drive Porsche.

I generally agree with the article. I also believe that the Xbox will eventually win the console war. I've had all three systems since the day they came out. The Xbox was FAR in the lead for a long time from a gaming perspective. The PS3 has had a lot of good titles recently. More exclusives than the Xbox that are worth playing (however) most of them were years in the making and will likely NOT see sequels. I think the PS3 will lose overall.

I wonder what the attach rate of for each console is? It really matters just as much as number of machines sold. I know 10 people that own PS3's but have never purchased a game for it, blu-ray only for them. For a long time it was the cheapest and best blu-ray player on the market. Sony gambled on blu-ray with the PS3. It probably only won over HD-DVD because of it... but ultimately blu-ray hurts gaming (for now) because of ultra slow seek times.

My Wii Collects Dust... it's been a huge disappointment. I have 6 games for it. It only gets used when I have company.

I'm not really interested in the "move" controller. I don't see it being implemented well into any games. (Kind of like the Wii-Mote)

Natal holds a lot of promise. Not only for the Xbox, but for all technological gadgets in general. I'm not saying it's going to be a killer add-on for the Xbox. I think it will be mediocre at best. But given time... maybe in the next version of the xbox.. it could be a contender.

Terrible article. Use Logic.
Of course Wii sales are down now, 2/3 of the country have already bought one, this isn't a Xbox360 where sales keep coming because the system keeps breaking. Way over 1/3 of those Xbox360 sales are due to malfunctioning systems... and you call that the winner?

@efeat the reason PC gaming is dying is not because of crappy ports. It is dying because a ton of PC gamers Torrent all of their games. Then justify it by saying games cost to much or some other bull S#$t excuse. I have a 360, Wii and a high end gaming rig, I pay for all my games, if you can afford to build a gaming rig you can afford a 30 to 50 dollar game.

Back on topic, I am interested to see if Natal will actually be worth a purchase. If they make shovel ware like they do on the Wii count me out.
