[citation][nom]ReaM[/nom]USA sales never tell the quality of the console. Those boys are more testosterone halo driven. I understand playing fps games with mouse, but with a controller, it really reflects amateur US gaming.Do you have European sales stats and market share? I expect them to be, even if only slightly, different.[/citation]
[citation][nom]ReaM[/nom]and people, stop giving me minuses when I am telling facts.[/citation]

1. there are more pc gamers in american than any otehr country . that is a fact

2. most US FPSer fans prefer mosue adn key board , even the girl gamers i know on steam that are all US girls

3. you are not stating any facts , you are just running your mouth off in a ethno-centric and bigoted way

4. i thought directly insulting others could lead to a few days of banning ???

The console of the future is a Cube PC with a Quad Core2 Duo, 8 gigs ram and Dual video cards in SLI. Something like this:

[citation][nom]redgarl[/nom]The xbox 360 is a five years old tech that is 4 DX generation below today standards.Talk about TEH FUTURAEEE![/citation]

umm no it is not relaly 4 generations behind on dx tech

it is only 2 generations behind , the 360 uses DX 9 currently comps can get DX 11 but truthgfuly so few people are running dx 11 hardware not to forget Win vista or & wich is required for dx 11

Note: dx 10.1-2 do not count as seperate genrations they are incremental updates to dx 10 generation

[citation][nom]cj_online[/nom]wow a freakin Xbox and PC fanboi haven this is....[/citation]

Technically ther is no such thign as a PC "fanboy" ther are PC geeks , but teh tern fanboy is menat to describe a fanatic that is obsessed with one company's product , and a pc is not aobut one company's product , but instead blends many comp[anies products in to one unit. to to forget the fact that a PC is not a single purpose computer like a console is it's a general purpose comptuer that does many otehr thigns besides play games , most "PC fanboys" as you incorrectly label them are PC geeks who don't see the need or reason to buy a game system when thier computer they use daily in life already , can be made to run games as well and do so better than a single purpose console can do.

the term fanboy jsut doesn't apply to "pc gamers" unless you are talking about indivdual hardware components (such as amd fan boy , intel fanboy ect ect)

P.S. I'm not a fanboy in any way , i ahve comps from both AMD and Intel , i ahve used many vid cards from old voodoo , to nividia ,and ati. I also own a xbox 360 i game on as well adn would love to have the money for a wii and a ps3 , I'm a game art design major , so my comptuer tends tob e build with that in maind and thus runs games great too so yes i do usualy wind up gaming on pc more than console but this by no means makes me a fanboy of anything (well ok i'm a fanboy of women 😛 what guy isn't?)

PC WILL WIN OVER EVERYTHING!!!!!

I have to run with Belardo's last comment. The US market is the only market being focused on here. I also really enjoy how last years NPD numbers were ignored for Nintendo. Did we forget that most US citizens are hemorrhaging money right now thanks crooked companies, and people are trying to save as much as they can so they can have some where to play there games.

Again going along with Belardo's comment NO ONE (and I really mean absolutely no one) who writes articles like these, ever includes even the smallest opinion on how many 360 consoles are replacements. Now if the 360 didn't have the hardware issues I may still own one, but after two RRODs I quite that game.
As far as titles go what is this about Sony only having violent games, just about every game (that's not first party) are cross platform. Microsoft has just as many violent titles as Sony.

And to end my sorry tirade PC WILL STOMP THEM ALL INTO A PLACE FORGOTTEN BY TIME!!!!!

[citation][nom]FUtomNOreg[/nom]And the winner, and still champion, is....the PC.[/citation]

That's for sure. I know many people out there don't want to tinker with or upgrade ANYTHING. When it's not good enough, buy a new one. I don't like that idea as it's wasteful.

I don't knock what people care to use and what works for them. Many of my friends are into consoles, but when they come over and see PC hardware running DX10 on a HDMI monitor... they even admit that no console looks as good. That's a fact. There is no saying otherwise: PC HARDWARE is superior to console hardware.*

*Yes, the CELL is a powerful CPU... but you can also add that to your PC. Granted it's not going to be your "main" CPU, but you can add one.

I'm not sure I see your logic. Microsoft tends to trend themselves ahead of the curve but until they put honest, heartfelt production controls into their hardware ahead of their software (which also in some cases is flagging), they won't win. Keep in mind that whatever hardware you get from Microsoft, it's going to be built by the lowest bidder. This is not the case with either Sony nor Nintendo as they know that once a customer has a bad experience regardless how things turn out, they won't be back. Like someone else earlier said, in the NA market, there are a lot of stupid, gullible customers out there...

I think to a greater degree, Microsoft is ahead with regards to how they've rolled out their online presence and to that end, they will continue to set the trend. However their telling black eye will continue to be their resistance to admitting they've dropped the ball on their hardware development, construction, and, until very recently, their support. With the failure rate of their Xbox 360 consoles still significantly higher than that of their competitors, this cannot be seen as win by any standard.

Sony isn't the end-all, be-all either but, in their favor, their slow-moving behavior has meant that the psuedo-racist/sexist outlaw behavior that pervades the Xbox Live communities hasn't had much chance to invade the PlayStation Network community in the same way. Also, because of Microsoft's unwillingness to really police the behavior, I, for one, won't be willing to give them any of my money regardless of how solid the offerings of their community are. This, I can tell you, comes more from my experiences in customer service more than from my own personal experiences on the service because, to be honest, why should I pay an extra $10 every month to play a game online and be poorly treated? While my experiences on PlayStation Network have been sparce (I only deal with people I know there), I also know that I'm getting the full value out of my hard-earned dollars without paying an extra fee. Keep in mind that both PS3 and Xbox 360 games cost exactly the same in the majority of retail outlets but with PS3 games, you can play online anytime with your internet connect and not have to pay Sony anything additional... just sayin'...

Nintendo isn't really flagging at all but by the standards set, they have yet to truly venture into the Next-Gen console territory. The Wii is maybe a little more powerful than Sony's original PSOne but that's about it. Okay, maybe significantly more powerful, but aside from the revolutionary control scheme, there isn't anything next-gen about the Wii. I do get tired of people grouping it in the same category as the PlayStation 3 or the Xbox 360 when in reality, it's not...

Nintendo has been very adept at realizing their strengths both in dealing with their own IP and with coordinating / promoting third party goods. It has kept them in the game and even slightly ahead of their competitors, such as they are. However, that said, I would have to say that until Nintendo actually really steps up in their hardware (and why SHOULD they when they dominate the handheld market so thoroughly), they should be removed from this discussion...

Going back to Microsoft for a moment... While Natal looked really interesting from the outside, a look under the hood disclosed a significant number of shortcomings. First, how it's going to be set-up. Like the Move, it will require a camera but because it's syncing up with a form and using some level of depth reception, you won't be able to really set one up and play in anything but a sterile environment. What if, say, your dog or cat walks into rang of your gaming? So far, there's been no direct answer to that but my insider info is telling me that setting up for testing software is also a very expensive and sterile sort of set-up. Nothing like what an actual customer experience would be like. Not everyone has a 12x12 sterile room with correct and ambient lighting available to set up their Xbox 360 with Natal whereas either the Wii or the Move shouldn't have those issues. Having played with the Move and owning a Wii, I've never encountered an issue with people walking in front of or behind me affecting my game play... okay, maybe with the Wii because the IR link is temporarily blocked... :)

Oh, and how is the Xbox 360 going to support 3D? The PlayStation 3 doesn't have to intrinsicly change their hardware to do it and have already added firmware in support of 3D transition. My understanding is that Microsoft will have to wait until 2013 or release a new console earlier to support 3D in full. I'd have to double-check my white papers on this to be sure but that's my current understanding of the situation. Oh, and didn't they also lose the hardware standard war between Blu-Ray and HD-DVD? Also, whose consoles have been used daisy-chained and used as super-computers by the government? If that's not trending ahead of the curve, I don't know what is...

From a company in motion perspective, yes, Microsoft is way out in front with regards to their service offerings. They have been for a while and have profitted mightily from it. However, I think that in the coming year, provided that Sony can get out of its own way, they will close the gap significantly by Q3 of FY 11 in terms of their community offerings and ability to provide significant controlled service to their customers...

it's funny how all of you are so wrong. GDP is god. you fanboys are tarded. guess what. nintendo won. next time maybe sony and xbox should just oh i don't know just confess they made a computer and sold it as a console just like the past. derrrrr!!!! tom readers are posers and listen to limp bizkit and worships danny glover.

What a waste of space this article is... A guy who writes about consoles doesn't realize why Sony has a lighted bulb...

I'll enlighten you: obviously it's there for PS3 to QUICKLY identify, where the controller is. That's why it's so fast and doesn't need extra CPU power, as xbox.

ok?

Xbox and PS3 have the same games. Xbox has less exclusive games and has PC games.

There are no console wars its all cross platform, except since the PS3 (other than the useless wii) is the only system that has more than 1 exclusive game that is why I got rid of my bricked xbox and bought a PS3.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Natal uses an infrared projector and monocrome camera which judge body heat. So unless you'r somewhere that brings your core temp down below what an infrared sensor can view you're fine. It doesn't have to be a sterile environment either because you can have another person or animal walk in front of the game and it won't ruin your game. Why? Because like when using a controller a second player has to show they're going to play. A person can't just start waving their hands and screw up your game.

Now with Move there is some lag between the controller and TV. Depending on the TV you have the lag could be greater or less. Also Move uses bluetooth and if you have a bluetooth headset you know sometimes the signal will fade. You can have two identical phones and two identical headsets but bluetooth will work great on one phone and sound like crap on another. It also depends on how much interference you have in your home. If you use a lot of electronic equipment, or your phone uses a similar frequency as your controller it may not work as well.

I hate to have to tell you this but Sony will soon be taking over the console market. PS3 games just keep getting better and better while 360 games are maxed out. Natal will be draining a minimum of 15% of system resources from the 360 so you can figure graphics will start dropping off. And the PS3 isn't very far behind the 360 in worldwide sales.

This guy is an idiot, I could go on and on about what a moron this douchbag is, but this is only a comment and not a 'roast of douchbag who wrote article'. Ps3 is a ever expanding system and will be around long after 360. While I will admit that Sony have used the advertising makeover 3yrs ago, they are finally starting to tap into the complete potential of the PS3. Sony's current agenda. Remodel PS3, remodel maketing strateg, proactive steps to improve online content, 3D content, motion control...and the icing on the cake.....PSP2? (referring to a recent statement made by Sonys Dille, basicaly saying they plan on expanding PS3 to PSP connectivity.)Sounds an awful lot like they are getting ready to make a 'Sony move' against Nintendo when it comes to handhelds.

LMAO I can't believe this guys said it " XBOX360 is the future ". If thats the case sales wise then the Nintendo DS is the Future compared to PSP GO. Really though this has to be writen by a 360 fanboy. LMAO a console with a DVD9 Drive is the future in 2010 LMAO MS openly said it was a 5 year console

[citation][nom]kokin[/nom]Let's forget about consoles and just focus on PC gaming![/citation]

The main thing about PC gaming is that there are so many cheaters. Its much harder to chat on a console. Now if OnLive becomes big then that can fix the cheating problem plus it'll be great for people who don't want to upgrade their PC's every couple years just to play the newest games. Until then Consoles are the way to go.

so you were wrong last time but all of a suden you think your right this time??i think your full of crap.take your m$ check and try and get some gypsy to teach you the basic's in foretelling better predictions.
