I'm not sure what you're trying to get at.

With each revision, they had lesser power and cooler chips. As technology progresses, they revised the motherboard to take advantage of it. Nothing wrong with that.

Exactly that.
We have a new Xbox that is cooler and safer but we have people saying "its just the same old Xbox" when clearly it isn't.
You may as well call this the Xbox 720 and have done with it.
