Looks like a mouse, but the small size makes it a lot more convenient (my router is more than half a foot long and has to share a small space with my modem).

So essentially one of those 3G modems you can buy from the carrier, though the ability to hook to WiFi and share that is nice.

Good for pairing up with connectionless tablets or notebooks. Otherwise pretty useless.
I can still manage using the same feature on my phone.

This has been around in the UK for at least a couple of years already!, Several carriers offer them, some are marvel, some are huwaie made!

Sorry for the idiotic question but...are they saying that this uses your cell-phone's 3G as a way around hot-spot restrictions, or that this device has it's OWN 3G connection (and thus would require for you to get separate service from your carrier)?
