yes it would, but the issue is just because you can unlock the cores doesn't mean they will work. Some are quad cores that have had the cores turned off because they were bad, others because they needed more dual cores. Its the luck of the draw, and if it happens to unlock fine, doesnt mean they will be stable for overclocking.

Thank you, the person I'm buying the B59 from will offer a full refund if the cores don't unlock or aren't stable.

i'd say go for it if you get a full refund, also remember that you need a decent motherboard to unlock, a cheap mobo that can't keep voltages from jumping around usually will end up not working. But like i said, if theres a full refund involved give it a shot, it might end up saving you money and get the performance you want.
