To G-sync or not to G-sync that is the question

I am looking to buy a laptop for when I travel. I play WOW that is all. I have narrowed my choices down to a MSI GT72 VR Dominator, and now I am stuck. Two variants of this model are the 238 and the 286. Both machines are identical except that the 238 display is 60hz with G-sync and the 286 is 120hz without G-sync. My question is will the faster refresh trump the slower G-sync, or will the inherent FPS fluctuations make G-sync a better choice. Thank you for your assistance.

MSI GT72 VR Dominator:
17.3” FHD IPS (1920x1080)
I7-6700 HQ
GTX 1060 6gb
16gb DDR4 2400mhz RAM
1tb HD
$1502.00

Solution
It depends on if you are happy with 60fps. Personally I don't think the g sync will make a difference as v sync will hardly put a dent in performance for wow. So the decision is yours. Do you want to play at 60fps or 120fps.

I don't think having G-sync for 60hz for wow is of any use to you - the computer will be pushing WOW @ 60FPS easily so G-sync to help with lost frames is pointless.

120hz is probably the better option in this specific situation.

I am totally fine with 60fps gaming and I kind of like the idea of not having to deal with OPTIMUS (So many steps to verify if performance issues are incorrect GPU used, and resize issues in some games) anymore. So +1 gsync.
