Torrents problem

I've downloaded utorrent. Every time I download something it starts and then after a time it says access denied. So I tried another file and same thing. So I downloaded Bittorent and it does the same thing. Also I have problems getting windows to associate torrents with their respective programs. I have download the short cut and go click on it rather than it just do what it does. I don't midn that so much I just want to download stuff without getting the dreaded access denied error.
