The tv screen started to ripple, then shrink a bit, then go back to normal. I switched video source from cable to dvd to see if it was a cable problem, but had the same results... its no reception issue. Turned off tv and tried to turn on again several hours later, but screen wouldn't come up, and now the power led is blinking. Sound is fine. Whats wrong, and worth fixing?

That television set was a current model in 2001-2002. Usually an issue like that is either a power supply, or part of your CRT system is going. Due to the age of the set, i would seriously doubt parts are still available. If they are, you are still looking at well more than the value of the TV in repairs. You can pick up a new 50 inch Plasma, or LCD starting at 500 bucks, and you can get a good model starting at 800. I'd have to recommend going that route.
