Toshiba black screen

Hello,
When we were restoring to an eariler point on our toshiba satellite with a backup hard drive and part of the way through the usb got pulled out. when trying to restart t after that we only get a black screen with cursor after the windows starting page....got toshiba recovery discs and still can't get anything but a black screen and a cursor

I'm not following this stubby.
Are you trying to restore from a System Image made by Windows 7 that you saved to a USB drive?
Or did you use Windows Restore to go back to an earlier date?
