Hello all. I went to use my Toshiba C55-A5172 laptop today and the colors were very off. The background is supposed to be green on the screen where I enter my password but it's blue. I shrugged and logged in, but then I noticed the color was faded and I could barely see much.

I searched Google for answers and I think it's either a faulty LCD screen or the connector. I connected the laptop to my tv and the colors are perfectly fine. I understand that I may have to reseat the connector and see if it changes, if it doesn't, it's probably the screen. Is there any other way I can know which is the faulty part? If not, how do I replace the screen? There are literally no guides or support on how to do so on this model. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

You actually nailed it when you say it can be related to your LCD or the ribbon cable itself.

Here's a video tutorial on how to disassemble your laptop completely so you can remove the ribbon cable off the LCD.

If removing and putting it back will not work then the problem would be the LCD itself and replacing it would be the solution.
