toshiba c855 does not turn on

I have been having this problem with my laptop where, when ever I press the power button without plugging in my laptop, it does not turn on for days (no led light either). When this happens, I have to leave the laptop plugged in for days (3-4) and then the white led indicator comes on therefore it then starts.
Is this a problem with my motherboard?

It sounds more like your battery is going and may need replacement not like a motherboard issue.
