Laptop just over a year old (non-warranty), when it boots the screen goes white and flashes varying colors of gray. The Windows login sound plays and you can type in the password, thus starting Windows, hard drive is fine.

Hi, try an external monitor, if all goes well on the external monitor, the problem is the screen of the laptop. You can check also the connection at the back of the screen.
