Question Toshiba Laptop doesn't boot black screen

I have a Toshiba Satellite L550. It was idle and went on sleep mode, then into a coma apparently.

I tried turning off and on again, it turns on, fan starts working, checks the drive, HDD flashes a few times, but stuck on black screen.

I tried removing the batteries, holding the power button for 60 seconds, then turning again, same deal.

Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

What happens if you remove the HDD?
