I have a Toshiba Satellite L850D (I think), and the battery will not charge. The laptop will only load indefinitely with the battery inserted, sitting on the Toshiba load screen with the title, but a lack of the loading icon.
without the battery, the laptop works fine when plugged in to the power cable, although this limits the laptops' performance due to lack of available resources to run.
when running a large game for instance, the laptop shuts down suddenly without warning.
have tried the "remove everything, hold power button thirty seconds, plug everything in and try again" method to no avail.
I fear my battery may be dead, although I am not tech savvy and may simply need to update the BiOS or whatever.
help muchly appreciated.
