Hello!
I have bought a laptop (thread name) a while ago, and hating the Windows 8.1 on it, I downgraded it to Windows 7.
Onto the topic: when the laptop had Windows 8.1 on it, the camera and other hardware had no problems working, but upon the downgrade, the computer doesn't recognise the hardware, as if the camera didn't exist at all, when it's clearly there, staring into my soul.
I tried to forcefully install camera software (from toshiba, from lenovo etc) but it didn't change anything, and sometimes even the software installer said that "there is no camera".
I really don't like the design of Windows 8.1, and I don't want to upgrade to Win 10 because it's an invasion of privacy imo.
Does anyone have a solution to make the camera work with Windows 7?

I updated from Windows 7 to Windows 10 but I still was unable to use the camera. I was planning to install Ubuntu in an attempt to get it working, but I managed to fix it.
The solution was inside the BIOS, where "Enable Webcam" was turned off.
Could a mod close this thread? I don't know how.
