Toshiba Satellite C850-F01M wireless connection

I have never been able to use wireless on my Toshiba laptop please help me and tell me what programs to downlaod

There is no software for the wireless and I downloaded one from the internet but it keeps telling me the wireless adapter is not available so now I want to delete the downloaded program and get your advice on what to do next. Even when I press the wifi button its dead no response. And yes windows can't detect it

you sure that you can't see it in "device manager"? if that's the case then have your wifi card replace, must be faulty.

Well I can't see it in the systems folder. Oh dear replacing the card! Ok I'll ask my technician to confirm it needs relacing. Thanks alot

I realize this is an older thread, but wanted to share in case others encounter this problem as I recently did. This is for a (Toshiba Satelittle C850 with Windows 8.1.)

Go to Control Panel.
Under "Network and Internet," click "View Network Status and Tasks."
In the upper left corner, you'll see an option to "Change Adapter Settings."
Find the "Wifi" icon, right click, and select "enable wifi."

This is pending the wifi connection is working properly, but your toshiba is not showing any networks. I'm not sure how mine got turned off, but this did the trick.
