Question Toshiba Satellite Pro R50 start up problem

Toshiba Satellite Pro R%) wont power up. The white light flashes 5 short, one long and two short but nothing happens. Tried the remove battery, reconnect power cable suggested fix but nothing changes. Any solutions would be gratefully received. Thanks.

Toshiba support site should have the blink code you can check. Try different RAM or one stick at a time?

Thanks for the prompt reply. The laptop is about 3 years old and has not had the back off yet. Don't think it's a battery or supply side problem as the blinking light persists for hours when the laptop is disconnected from the power supply. I've emailed Toshiba support and am awaiting a response.

1. Unplug the computer from the AC adapter.
2. Remove the battery from the computer.
3. Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds.
4. Re-Install the battery.
5. Re-Connect the AC adapter.
6. Press the power button to turn the computer back on.

Tried that and it didn't work.

Ended up taking laptop to repair shop. It was judged to be uneconomical to repair. Tech guy said some older Toshiba laptops are made of cheap and unreliable components allegedly. Toshiba customer support failed to respond to any of my emails sadly. Wont purchase any of their products again. Thanks all for the advice.
