toshiba satellite Z30-B100 touchpad

Hi again,
My new toshiba laptop has come with an alps touchpad. This touchpad doesn't react to multi touch gestures such as 2-4 fingers scrolling, pinching or spreading - actually nothing. It is a costly laptop and it makes me wonder whether this problem is inherited in the system, or I simply don't know how to make it work. In the mouse/touchpad configuration there are no such options. BTW, it runs win8 + 16 Gb ram. Is there a way I can make it work? With another 3rd party driver maybe?
...and yes, the alps driver is uptodate.

Have you tried installing the latest driver from Toshiba's website? Here's the support page of Toshiba, just enter the model or serial number of your laptop and should give you all the drivers for your laptop and in your case what you need is the TouchPad driver. Normally yours should be Synaptics or ELAN.
