Toslink TV with Jack PC speakers

Guys I have basic logitech PC speakers that I used with my old samsung tv (which had a headphone jack).

I bought new samsung tv and it doesn't have a headphone jack
I don't want to buy new speakers so I bought some audio converter that converts the toslink to headphone jack.

It works, but the big problem is that in order to get it working, I have to choose the "external audio" (or something similar) in the setting of my TV. This means that I cannot control the volume on my speakers with the remote of the TV.

Can somebody tell me how to fix this problem?

You can use something like this which is an digital audio splitter, but also has a built in amp. This will not do away with the problem of not being able to control the sound using the tv remote though. Well that is my main problem. I just want to be able to control the volume from the tv remote.
If this is not possible with that digital audio splitter, I don't see any advantages compared to the setup I already have at the moment.

There really is no way of doing this. If you have the TV linked up to an A/V system, you use the remote for that to control the volume. The digital optical signal coming from the TV is at a set level, so that the volume level can be controlled further down the line. It is frustrating, but is a fact of life using Digital optical.

Stupid question: if I buy new speakers that have a toslink input, will i be able to control the volume from the tv remote?

Unfortunately, no. It is the optical output that is at a set level. No matter what you plug into the Digital optical out, you will not be able to control the volume with the TV remote.
Only proper way of doing it, is to have an A/V amplifier & speakers connected via the optical out, and that unit will have a remote control.
