Question Traditional TV to sound bar

This is a preventive question. I have an older Samsung TV. It has an optical out connection. I want to buy a sound bar to help my older ears. Looking on Amazon and reading the descriptions of the sound bars, I see some say:
For traditional TVs, please use AUX cable connection.
For smart TVs, please choose Bluetooth, AUX or optical connections.

My TV does not have AUX/RCA outs, only HDMI[which are busy] and one optical.
My question is, does any one know why the company would say to use the AUX on older TVs? Do people have problems connecting older TVs using optical to sound bars? I would hope that I can connect my TV to an unyet purchased sound bar using the optical connection - with no problems.
I just want to ask so I don't have trouble down the pike.
Thanks for any info.

It´s just that the usual traditional TV´s didn´t have optical or bluetooth. Only AUX was available then.

If you have optical, you should connect the soundbar by that. It´s the best.

On Amazon most descriptions are not reliable or just wrong. Most sellers there are writing descriptions in a marketing like way.
