transfer pictures from cell phone to laptop

How do i transfer my pictures from my Verizon Motorola G cell phone to my Dell laptop? I do have Windows 8 if that matters
 
Plug your phone to your laptop via USB cable. Should show up like any other media drive. Just locate the pictures and drag&drop.
