Transferring LinkedIn Contacts to Microsoft Outlook

There can be several reasons why you want to transfer your LinkedIn contacts to Microsoft Outlook. You may want to send direct emails to the contacts, you may want to have a backup copy of your LinkedIn contacts for future reference.

In order to transfer your LinkedIn contacts to Microsoft Outlook, the application (Microsoft Outlook) must be installed on your computer.

Here is how you can transfer your LinkedIn contacts:

    ■Open your favorite web browser.
    ■In the address bar, type www.linkedin.com and press Enter.
    ■Provide your email address and password in the Email address and Password fields respectively and click Sign In.

    ■On the Home page, click the Connections menu from the menu bar at the top.

    ■Once the Connections window appears, click the Gear icon from the top-right corner of the upper section.

    ■From the next page, under the Advanced Settings section in the right, click Export LinkedIn Connections.

    ■When the redirected webpage opens up, ensure that the Microsoft Outlook (.CSV file) option is selected in the Export to drop-down.
    ■Once ensured, under the Export to list itself, click the Export button.

    ■On the Security Verification window, type the given captcha (random text) in the available field and click Continue.

    ■On the Opening linkedin_Connections_export_microsoft_outlook.csv box, click to select the Save File radio button.
    ■Finally, click Save from the bottom to save the .CSV file to your local hard drive.

    ■Once you have saved the file successfully, you must follow the above steps from 1 to 8, and when on step 8, instead of clicking the Export button, click to expand the Instructions for importing the newly exported file to: Microsoft Outlook link, and follow the displayed instructions to import the LinkedIn contacts to Microsoft Outlook.
