Tried to reinstall Windows 7

Midway through the installation thw screen was going white and now when turning on the laptop the screen wont even turn on. But the hard drive is spinning.

The laptop has no hdd indicator for some reason. (A friends laptop)

The laptop just stays with the screen off.

It's a Dell laptop and a fairly old one.

Model is Dell studio 1558

Try removing the battery, disconnecting the AC adapter, press the power button a bunch of times then hold it in for like 15 seconds and release it. Connect the AC adapter and try powering it on. If the screen continues to stay off, maybe try connecting an monitor to the VGA port and see if any display appears that way you can at least narrow the problem down

I have tried the no battery pressing the power button thing and connecting it to a VGA monitor also doesnt work
