Question Trying to access an old Yahoo mail account

Hello, I am trying to access an old yahoo mail account which I have the username and password for. However, when I try to do so it tells me to verify using a different recovery email that I no longer have. I don't understand why it won't just accept my username and password, is it locked for some reason?

While registering the account if you have added the phone number then you can try verify different way. and get the code on your phone.
