Trying to charge my laptop without the correct adapter

I have a computer that I need to charge but I don't have the right adapter on me. I do have one that is rated for 9volts/6.23amps and the comp i need to charge asks for 19.5volts/9.23amps. If I turn the laptop off can I charge it with the adapter without damaging my computer? this isn't long term just a one time thing.
