Trying to find a really good pair of gaming headphones

I had an old pair of Turtle Beach x41's. So obviously I need something that's better. I understand to get the best you need to pay for the best. I would just like to get some opinions on different headsets. What are the best headsets from all the top brands?

What I've learned is to get a cheap microphone and invest in a good pair of headphones. Decent headphones actually end up being on the same level as the expensive headsets.
I've done research on headsets the past few days but ultimately learned that this was the best way to go.
