Trying to hook up LG DVD player with yellow white and red plugs into a Vizio flat screen with only green blue and red Outlets

Solution
Your DVD player:

Red and White RCA: Left and Right channel(s) audio out
Yellow RCA: Video out signal

What you want to look for on the TV, is a Left and Right RCA audio in and a single RCA video input. The colors are not so much important, as are the function of the output/input connections of the components.

If your TV does not have the above inputs for the DVD, does it have a spare HDMI input? If so, this may be of some help and is not expensive: https://www.amazon.com/GANA-Composite-Converter-Adapter-Supporting/dp/B01L8GG6PW/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1511631995&sr=8-3&keywords=converter+for+rca+to+hdmi
