Trying to hook up my home theater sound bar to my Mitsubishi tv

Without the model number of the TV we can't know what audio outputs it has.
The soundbar has digital optical audio and analog inputs.
If the TV has optical out use that. Check the TV manual to turn it on.
If the TV has analog audio out or a headphone jack use that.
