Tv no arc sky box sony soundbar setup

Hi , I have a samsung tv without arc and sky HD box. I want to connect my SONY MT-5000 soundbar. How do I go about setting up ideally using HDMI? Cant I just plug my sky box to tv via HDMI and tv to soundbar via HDMI and have complete sound?

You can't use HDMI to connect the soundbar unless the TV has ARC (which you say it doesn't). You would use the TV optical audio output to get audio to the soundbar
