Is the new adapter traceable?

Err, traceable in what way? Do you mean can TWC see where you are using it? Or what you are watching? Or do you mean can anyone in the world find where you are using it?

If I buy one one eBay, will they know when I'm watching and disconnect me. Like a bootleg adapter I guess.

You need to enable it with twc to use it. so they will have to know about it
