Thanks Apple for protecting me from all that harmful porn. I thoroughly enjoy being restricted in how I use my device. Freedom of choice is WAY overrated!

Since my 6 year old uses apple I'm glad to see such measures. If she wants to do stuff after she's out of my house, more power to her. But at 6, sorry, I don't want it fed through my supplied media.

There are so many educational games and apps for them.

you're aware that by giving your 6 year old daughter a proprietary device like that you are setting her up to have everything she ever does throughout her entire life recorded... permanently... from the age of SIX no less. shame on you.

this is sad.

you're on a tech site, perhaps you'd like to know a little of the harm you're doing to your 6 year old daughter when you give her a device that monitors and records everything she does, everywhere she goes, everything she searches for, and soon every text message, every picture taken, every voicemail via full-text transcripts, it is truly a nightmare.

They will be using an account in their parent's name while on the device. Big brother will not know that a child is using the device, nor will they likely give a shit.
IMO, if you wait until a child is in their teens to give them a device to use, they will not only be clueless, but the novelty of the experience may encourage misuse.

So because you are too lazy or dumb to set the parent lock on her device, you want millions of other people to be screwed over.

That's ok. I've seen worse. The one time I went into the Apple store and picked up one of their newest iTouch being demoed out on the showroom floor. Scrolled around and then browsed through the pics only to find hardcore porn on the device. I showed it to one of the Apple workers there and she freaked out. She was like...OMG!!

You would think they would block these type of connections from ever reaching their devices. Guess not.
