Question U22XT / native audio 8 dj and headset mic problem

Hello,

In pursuit of better audio quality, im trying to use one of the 2 usb soundcards i have around, a native instruments audio 8 djand a esi u22xt with my headset hyper x cloud alpa.

My problem starts when i connect the microphone to the soundcard/dac, I get no audio on the mic, sometime a ground noise (hummm). I also soldered axlr cable to 3.5 mm female adapter in the hope there would be audio, but no, also using the 3.5mm to 6.5mm adapters (I have a few around) no audio. Still cant understand why. But when I plug a shure sm58 mike it all works fine.

What could be the problem?

What am I missing?

Maybe because of the phantom voltage of the u22xt

the audio djand can be set from instrument to line

The phantom power is off. My sm 58 does not use phantom.
