Backstory:
I am a near-exclusive ArmA 3 player. I total well over 1400 hours of it logged through steam. After a short ~2 month break from the game, of playing Fallout and R6 Siege, I have resumed heavy play of Arma.
After a few days of play I noticed that my computer wouldn't render frames nearly as often as it had - I was getting FPS drops. This has occurred primarily when multiple sources of gunfire [in game] trigger a frame drop. To the effect of there are maybe 75 bullets in the 'air' of the rendering. So over the past ~3 weeks I have been dealing with frame drops during what are really important moments for the game, meaning I lose reaction and reaction time because of the FPS loss.
This also happens when I enter an area with a large number of objects, buildings, units, et cetera. Places such as cities, almost exclusively.
Question:
How can I improve my average Frames per Second AND reduce or even eliminate the frame drops from gameplay? I fail to understand what is suddenly causing my FPS losses. My only other thought that could be possible, to my understanding, would be an update to Arma 3 that changed the performance.
To keep this short:
I will happily provide loads more information if requested. I have plenty more information about my habits with the game, the performances of hardware and software, and - again - plenty more areas.
Any response appreciated.
