unable to reinstall chrome

I could not update chrome, because"updates have been disabled by administrator". There is no administrator, I never blocked updates, and to solve the problem, I uninstalled chrome to reinstall it. Now, it downloads, but won't install and says "can't update due to incnosistent group update policy". There is no group, just a private computer. I suppose there are leftovers of chrome preventng a new installation, but how do I delete it? I tried installing with the offline link, nothng works... Thanks.

no, it does not work for 7 home premium... I tried to change the registry whee udates for google chrome were set at 0 to 1. Now I get erro 7, but still nothing.
