Unbreakable problems on ABC

Well... here in Richmond, Unbreakable was not exactly that.

Problems with the sound - seems that only the surround channels were making
it through most of the night and the video alternated between the 16:9 HD
and 4:3 SD for most of the show as I guess the WRIC engineers were trying to
figure out if people wanted the HD without the dialog or the SD with dialog.

Other than that... a great movie.

I'm watching the Seattle feed off satellite. It's OK.

Paradoxically, most real events are highly improbable.

Problems could have been with the affiliate

9 times out of 10, missing dialog is because the local affiliate forgot to
switch from 2-channel audio to Dolby Digital 5.1. I've had to call my local
stations upon occasion (usually only the news hot-line is open during prime
time) and have them remind Master Control to switch on their 5.1 encoder.

Same thing here in Seattle.

WHY must we have to remind them to do their jobs properly?
