I've got a projector and I want to know if there is any way to get it to run MKV files with audio. Currently it plays most formats fine but if its MKV it won't have any audio. Converting to Mp4 complicates things due to it taking forever and I haven't worked out how to get subs working on it.

I noticed this in a review of your projector.

"The inbuilt media player is ok for the most common media formats. I was able to play 1080p30 H.264 and MPEG2 files just fine. Although I did notice files with AC3 audio were silent, suggesting that the codec wasn’t licenced. If you’re wanting to play more “exotic” formats, I’d suggest connecting up a media player to the HDMI input."

The audio portion of your mkv file may well have been encoded with AC3 codec.
