Unlocking the bootloader

I have a HTC one m8 on Verizon and am having trouble perm rooting or unlocking the bootloader. Does anyone have any suggestions ?

According to this site, the m8 is already unlocked http/www.htcdev.com/bootloader
But this site says Verizon locked it again http/htc-one.wonderhowto.com/how-to/unlock-bootloader-root-your-htc-one-running-android-4-4-2-kitkat-0151186/
So I guess you've out of luck.
