updated video driver now I dont get an image!

Ive got an alienware m11x I updated my video driver and now I dont get an image on my screen. It boots up and the leds flash like normal but my monitor and both vga and hdmi external monitors dont work anymore.

I can blindly log into my account and ive tried to get in with safe mode (f8 start up, hit down and enter, Windows 7) but nothing ive tried as been able to get an image.

Do I have to take it to a shop?

Ive got the windows installation disk but would I be able to reinstall without an image?

If you can not see anything it is really hard to help you.
The system should be able to boot with a bad driver though.
Most laptops only use drivers to unlock the full power of the GPU.
It sounds like the GPU failed. I would take it to a shop.
It is very strange that is does not error though.
Use your FN keys to enable a second monitor.
That may fix the output problem. Make sure the FN to turn your screen off is not on.
If it still has a warranty use it!

I can still turnnit on, type my password and log in, would the laptop be able to do that if its a gpu issue? Ive tried the external monitor tricks and shorcuts dozens of times
