Hi, I've bought a laptop, (Lenovo Yoga 500 14 IBD) and it has an Intel 3825u CPU soldered to the motherboard.
I'd like to swap this out for an i7 5560u CPU as the socket type is the same, (BGA1168) and also the max TDP and CPU temperatures, but I'm not sure whether the motherboard would support this. I've contacted Lenovo tech support and they just say they are unable to offer advice like this.
After doing a little bit of research it looks like there is something called northbridge and southbridge which need to be considered....
Does anybody know what the best upgrade I could do that would be supported by the motherboard?
Cheers
