Upgrade satellite C850

I would like to upgrade my Toshiba as much as practically possible, maybe new motherboard, cpu, whatever it takes to run the newer games coming out. I really can't upgrade the motherboard or can I? If it could be modified in anyway I'm game, I got it disassembled and I am waiting for help on my first project. Also I would like to know how someone like me could become as knowledgeable as some of these people on here. Is it -- like I'm attempting -- all hands on experience?

get a new laptop as most laptops are not designed to play games & not very well upgradeable except for ram & hard drive.

Ok thanx man I guess though what I'm really trying to do is build stuff and learn, and I'm not a car guy. Thanx for help though next project desk top.

you have a lot better chance of upgrading a desktop compared to a laptop. I'm not really a car guy either.
