Upgrade screen from HD+(1600x900) to FHD (1920x1080) ???

Greetings. I have HP ENVY 17-j111tx laptop and need to replace the screen due to a line of stuck pixels.The max resolution of the current LCD that is to be replaced is 1600x900.Would it be possible to replace it with a LCD that has a resolution of 1920x1080 and get the laptop to run at that resolution ? The laptop has dual GPUs ie Intel HD Graphics 4600 and NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M...if any other info is required please let me know.Thanks.

go with the matte finish as less reflection.

Thanks a bunch for the reply.So basically the resolution is screen dependent and the manufacturer cant somehow disable the graphics cards from providing higher resolutions ?
