Does anyone know if you can get a Windows 2003 SE for the Ipaq H5450?

No. HP in has decided to discontinue the current line of iPAQ's
in favor of the new series they just released. if you want SE, you'll
have to buy a new iPAQ. have a look here:

Did you try looking on the HP site, or emailing them?

That's a sad state.........even microsoft give upgrades for more than 18
months. So I have to buy a new PPC for around £499.00 to get a few
addittions......

No, actually you don't have to buy a new iPAQ to get SE. You have the option
of buying a Dell or a Toshiba or even an Asus, as well.

They do? I don't recall MS giving me an upgrade to '98 from Win 3.1, or to
98SE, Me, 2000 or XP. I have received a coupon from a hardware OEM on
occasion that let me get a new OS that was imminent, but I don't recall MS
upgrading my OS at all, much less for 18 mos. Now, service packs they do.

And no, no one is forcing you to buy a new PPC, nor does the one you have do
any less now than it did when you bought it. If you really feel you cannot
survive without landscape on the fly, I can't imagine how you have gotten
along without it up to now.

Okay, so maybe Russ misspoke with give, but Mico$oft does allow one to
upgrade to a newer OS for a lesser amount than would a new OS (without the
upgrade.) What they do not do is ask one to buy a whole new computer just to
get an upgrade.

I find it very hard to believe that my 5555 does not have the ROM available
(it's got the biggest ever offered) for an OS upgrade when the entry level
iPAQs with WM2003SE have smaller ROMs.

And yes I would pay for an upgrade.

Ditto. I am not lookign for a friebie, but I spent $700 a year ago for IPAQ
5555 and it does upset me that I can not upgrade to a new OS, even if I am
willing to pay for it.

Like others, I think this was the last Ipaq I bought. Sadly, I went thru 5
ipaq models until I learned my lesson (started with Aero years back).
Well - time to move to a brand with more respect for loyal customers
