Today my travelstar 10gb drive failed (tripped over the laptop cord
and ripped it off the table *damn*)

After looking through the IBM website (which isnt too informative), I
cant find anywhere that lets you know what the max drive size and max
drive speed are. Would I be able to put a 7200rpm 60gb drive in my
600e?

Thanks for the help!

all you have to do is go to the ibm laptop site. Type in your laptop
type ,model no. and seriel no. It will automatically tell which type
and size hd will be compatable with your unit. IBM is by far the most
user friendly site for help. I have a hard time believing you couldnt
find an answer. If all else fails call tech support, I know they can
help you find the answer, providing the unit is legally owned.

Yes - there is no maximum drive capacity for the 600E. Speculation
is that it is in the 120GBs range, but we don't have drives that large
yet.

Try this link for info on IBM Thinkpads. I think I've seen an answer to
your question here.

Absolutely! I have one of those in a 600E and it works
beautifully. Like someone wrote on Thinkpads.com
"The 7k60 is like a shot of Viagra for a Thinkpad".
