Hey guys, I was looking to upgrade my PC's audio setup because my current subwoofer likes to just cut out randomly so I assume it's just dying because it's made poorly. I currently use a Modi 2U/Magni 2U setup and wanted to get speakers I could connect through them.

I've read around and see people suggest picking up powered studio monitors to use for a PC setup. I really don't want to break the bank and just looking for something better than the run of the mill logitech pc speaker setup they seem to break on me every couple years. I've seen recommendations for these monoprice speakers: https://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=115&cp_id=11504&cs_id=1150401&p_id=605500&seq=1&format=2

and I see they could be probably paired with this sub I think: https://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=115&cp_id=11504&cs_id=1150401&p_id=605999&seq=1&format=2

Just looking for opinions on if this is a good setup idea? And if so what would be the correct way to cable this all up? Thanks for any opinions on this.

Solution
Monoprice is certainly not stealing your money.
If you can go with a separate amp you will have better options on speakers.
You might also take a look at
www.parts-express.com
They have both assembled and kits.
The Dayton BR-1 kit is great bang for the buck.

Hey Cooper. I use powered monitors at home but at work I am on my second set of Bose bluetooth rechargeable computer speakers for use at work or wherever. Big sound out of a small size.
