Upgrading xps 13 9343 with a 9350 motherboard possible?

I would love to upgrade down the track and I can't really see why this wouldn't work? Mostly to upgrade to more ram when they release a 16GB version and the USB C port (excited for a external GPU!). So is this a thing?

If the motherboard matches the old one exactly, it may be possible. Screen connections may have issues even then. You are better off selling the existing system and getting a newer one if you want to do this.
